Specialist Neuro Occupational Therapist
BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy

Alex is a clinical specialist working in Brain injury and Functional Neurological Disorder. Alex qualified in 2004 and has specialised in acquired brain injury rehabilitation since 2008. She currently splits her working role between independent work and the NHS. 

Alex has extensive experience of working across the spectrum of brain injury, following the whole patient journey, from ICU to community. She is highly skilled in cognitive rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation, postural management and fatigue management. Alex is also a qualified mindfulness teacher. 

Alex is accustomed to completing assessments and creating holistic, goal focussed treatment programmes for adults with complex cognitive and physical needs. Alex is proficient in the use of outcome measures to demonstrate clinical effectiveness and change. As an OT Alex is used to linking in with a multitude of agencies to address ongoing care 

In her NHS role Alex works as a highly specialist OT and team lead in Functional Neurological Disorder. Alex has been integral in developing the therapy service and rehabilitation program within the regional specialist unit based in Bristol.  Alex is a practitioner that regularly partakes in continued professional development and applies an evidence base to therapy. Alex understands the huge impact that a brain injury can have on individuals and their loved ones. She places great value in building rapport and is committed to achieving quality of life and the best possible outcomes for her clients.
