Rebecca Coates is a neurological specialist physiotherapist with over 20 years’ clinical experience, 13 of which has been working in neuro specialist rehabilitation treating conditions including spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, stroke, Parkinson’s, and multiple sclerosis.

She has experience in balance rehabilitation, gait analysis and re-education and postural and tonal management. She practices advanced bobath handling skills and has experience with a range of neurotechnology with particular skills in functional electrical stimulation.

Rebecca values exercise in rehabilitation and believes it can enhance physical, mental and social wellbeing. She uses experience with Dynamic movement screening and Neurofit to optimise her client’s physical fitness at all levels of ability. Rebecca has experience of working throughout the care pathway, in Neuro Outpatients, community therapy and most recently intensive inpatients which included complex discharge planning and liaison with wider community services. Rebecca enjoys collaborating with the wider interdisciplinary team and is passionate about providing the best service for her patients by researching all avenues of option within her scope to ensure that they are receiving all that can be provided. Rebecca is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), and the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists Interested in Neurology (ACPIN).
