Alexa Payne has specialised in neurological rehabilitation for the majority of her career and has worked extensively with clients with a variety of neurological conditions including acquired brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury and multiple sclerosis.

Alexa qualified as a physiotherapist from the University of Southampton in 2008. She has experience across many clinical areas from acute hospitals, specialist stroke and rehabilitation units through to rehabilitation in people’s own homes and community settings. Alexa has worked as part of several large multi-disciplinary teams and developed a sound understanding of the need for holistic, patient centred rehabilitation to maximise outcome for the patient.

Alexa has a passion for rehabilitation and believes that movement is key to both physical and mental well-being. She uses a variety of approaches to helping her clients achieve greater independence and to reach their individual goals.

Alexa has specialist skills in therapeutic handling, posture management, gait analysis and re-education, balance and falls rehabilitation, spasticity management, aquatic therapy, orthotic recommendation and electrical stimulation.

Alexa is registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), and the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists Interested in Neurology (ACPIN).

Alexa enjoys running, yoga and netball and lives in Taunton with her husband and two children.
