Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Associate

BA (hons), PGDip

Katharine has worked in neuro rehab and run voice clinics in a variety of locations within the NHS and in the independent sector. She is experienced in assessing and treating conditions such as aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia, cognitive communication difficulties and dysphagia.

Gaining a wealth of experience working with neurological rehabilitation, she has worked in acute hospital settings, outpatient clinics, intensive inpatient rehabilitation, and also in the community, visiting people in their own homes. Katharine feels passionate about working holistically with clients to discover what is important to them and to work functionally to achieve goals that will have a meaningful impact on their lives.

Katharine also works with voice disorders and in education around vocal health. With an initial degree in Music from the University of York where she specialised in singing, Katharine’s combined expertise in the voice both as a performer and as a clinician makes her extremely well-placed to work with voice difficulties and combines two passions.

Katharine is a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP) and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). She has an enhanced DBS check.
