As two clinicians working together in private brain injury services alongside their NHS roles, Kesta and Sarah saw that gold-standard interdisciplinary teamwork was often missing in the private sector. Recognising how fragmented care could limit rehabilitation outcomes, they wanted to create something better.
Their motivation was also deeply personal. Kesta’s interest in brain injury began at a young age when her older brother sustained a traumatic brain injury as a pedestrian in a traffic accident. Sarah, too, experienced the impact of brain injury within her own family during formative years and saw first-hand the benefits of specialist rehabilitation.
Combining this lived experience with their professional expertise, they established Arbor Neurorehabilitation Services in Bristol – built on clinical excellence, compassion, and collaboration. From the beginning, quality of therapy and a culture of teamwork have been central to Arbor’s growth.
Today, Arbor continues to evolve – building trusted relationships with associates and partners throughout the West Country, while supporting new clinicians as they enter the complex field of medico-legal neurorehabilitation. What began as a shared vision has grown into a community of practice dedicated to helping clients, families, and referrers navigate life after neurological injury.
