Shereen has worked as a psychologist in the NHS and the independent healthcare sector since 2004. Her most significant experience is within neuropsychology, covering both inpatient and community services. She also has post-qualification experience working in forensic and mental health services. Across her work, Shereen’s focus is upon developing an understanding of presenting difficulties and supporting people (along with their families and teams) to work towards their goals. This is underpinned by an understanding of the nature of the person’s injuries, and their contexts and backgrounds.
Shereen utilises an integrative approach, drawing from a number of evidence-based therapeutic models, and finds the biopsychosocial framework particularly helpful in making sense of difficulties for people with neurological conditions. She enjoys working with clients, couples and families and employs collaborative and joint working approaches as needed to optimise outcomes.
