Nicky has worked as an associate for Arbor since 2018 and started her ACP role in August 2025. Prior to this she worked part time for a specialist brain injury team based in Gloucestershire NHS services for twenty years. She has experience of working in both acute and community settings providing occupational therapy rehabilitation, advice, and support. Her specialist skills include postural management, upper limb therapy (including constraint induced therapy), fatigue management, vocational rehabilitation, and functional rehabilitation (including community assessment and integration).
Nicky has significant experience in group work and has developed both a brain injury group, focusing on the cognitive difficulties following brain injury, and a fatigue management group within her NHS role. Nicky has specialist expertise in the assessment and treatment of clients with prolonged disorders of consciousness.
Committed to ongoing professional development, Nicky completed a master’s degree in advanced clinical Practice in 2023. Her extensive experience has given her a deep understanding of the challenges faced by adults following brain injury, and she strives to provide therapy, guidance, and support that enhances outcomes for individuals and their families. Nicky is dedicated to client-centred practice and is passionate about enabling adults with complex neurological needs to identify meaningful goals and maximise independence in daily life.
