Sara Evans is a qualified and registered Occupational Therapist and new to the area of neurological rehabilitation, she is delighted to develop her skills in this area through the therapy assistant role at Arbor. 

Sara has worked in various health and social care settings for over 25 years, as a carer/PA, occupational therapist, and promoting well-being through delivering community arts projects. 

Sara has a background in art including a degree in ceramics, and her experience as a community artist combined with her occupational therapy skills enables her to design and facilitate creative interventions to support overall health and recovery and facilitate creative expression.

Sara also specialises in nature therapy and can help people identify the barriers they may face to accessing nature and support them to overcome these. Through tailored group and one-to-one interventions Sara works with people to develop transferable practical skills, identify interests, build confidence and find personal meaning through enjoying the natural world.

Sara is experienced in vocational rehabilitation and through supporting people back to work following traumatic injury she has developed the following skills: assessing client function in relation to work demands, fatigue management, psychological screening, light touch psychological support and liaising with employers to create holistic return to work plans. Sara currently supports young people with additional needs to transition into adulthood, develop independent living skills and find meaningful participation in work, training or volunteering.  

Sara started her occupational therapy career in 2019 in Adult Social Care where she gained experience in housing and adaptations, moving and handling, aids and equipment and specialist seating. 

Sara is particularly interested in neuro rehabilitation, neurodivergent experiences sensory processing, and she is excited to build her knowledge and skills in these areas through regular CPD.

Sara is passionate about working in a person-centred way to enable quality of life and embraces reflection as a tool to support learning and development.
