Therapy Assistants
Therapy Assistants play a vital role in helping individuals with neurological conditions regain their independence to improve quality of life.
What are Therapy Assistants?
Neurological Therapy Assistants provide consistent, hands-on support that reinforces therapy programmes between professional sessions. Working as part of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) under the guidance of qualified therapists, assistants help clients practise skills, build confidence, and maintain progress at home and in their communities, offering a cost-effective extension of clinical input.
Our approach
We developed this service after recognising the lack of specialist skills within existing neurological care plans, particularly in completing therapy programmes and in supporting clients with consistency around activities of daily living.
Arbor’s Therapy Assistants work directly with clients in their homes, communities, or other everyday environments. Their role is to provide hands-on support between sessions with qualified therapists, helping clients to practise skills, build confidence, and work towards their rehabilitation goals in meaningful ways.
Our Therapy Assistants are carefully matched to each client and maintain close communication with the wider therapy team. They offer a consistent, friendly presence that complements clinical input, helping to reinforce strategies and make therapy more accessible, practical, and effective.
