Trauma Therapy

Trauma Therapy offers compassionate, evidence-based support to help individuals heal from trauma and build resilience.

Understanding Trauma

Our approach

We offer a range of proven therapeutic approaches including EMDR, CBT, ACT, and CFT. These methods work to reduce trauma’s emotional impact, help process distressing experiences, and develop effective coping skills. We aim to empower our client on their recovery journey and enhance wellbeing and resilience.

We offer individual therapy sessions using specialist approaches tailored to the client’s needs. Throughout therapy, they work in a supportive, confidential space designed to foster safety, growth, and healing. Our goal is to help reduce distress, develop coping strategies, and rebuild a fulfilling life.

Our process begins with a thorough assessment to explore the client’s trauma history and personal recovery goals. Together, the client and therapist develop a shared formulation to guide the treatment.

What people say about Arbor

Real experiences from the people who know us best – clients and families we’ve supported.

I was involved in a car accident where I was the passenger and received serious head injuries and lost my eye. I was feeling very tired, insecure and upset about the appearance and feelings of my face.

The one-to-one sessions with Jo have been very helpful, having someone to talk to who is not a member of the family or a friend has been important, and I feel I can express my feelings in a way I would be reluctant to with the people close to me. Jo has been very understanding and although I still get good and bad days I always feel better after our meetings.

Previous client

Before the accident I had no experience of psychology and was initially quite negative about how it could improve things, but I have been very impressed with the help I have received. My confidence has improved and I’m feeling much more like my pre accident self.

I would certainly recommend this service to others who have been through trauma.
